When you choose the estate sales professionals from Bertha and the Babes, you get a team of family members that are committed to treating you like one of the family. We set up every sale in the most professional manner possible . Our customers find our sales to be a pleasure to attend; always organized, easy and fun to shop. Our Estate Sales are an open house for antique buyers and dealers, collectors, interior designers and decorators, bargain hunters seeking treasures and casual shoppers.
Bertha and the Babes will:
- Clean items as necessary
- Professionally display items in a decorative manner
- Determine the value of each item
- Research collectible items, like antiques, art, jewelry, books, etc. to establish the best price
- Advertise your sale in several different venues – local newspaper, our website, Estatesales.com, Craigslist, signs in the neighborhood and email to regular shoppers
- Provide staffing and security the day of the sale
- Handle credit card processing
- Handle unsold items as per your instructions – call bulk buyer, donate to charity of your choice or turn them back over to you.
What is Your Responsibility
Your responsibility in the process is to clear out all personal items, paperwork, photos, mementos and any items you want to keep. Please do not throw out what you may consider not valuable. Let our team of experts sort everything in the home and decide what has value and what does not.
There are always items that do not sell. Those items remain your property. You decide what you want to happen with those items. You may decide to have us donate them to your favorite charity. Or you can instruct us to call in one of our bulk buyers to buy out the remaining items. Of course, you can also choose to keep the remaining items for yourself. You make the choice.
Our fee to conduct an estate sale starts at 40% of the gross sale. Out of our fee we pay for all set up costs, staffing, credit card fees and advertising. There is never any out of pocket charge to our clients. Once you hire us, your main job is to relax and wait for your check for 60% of the gross sale to arrive in the mail about 10 working days after the sale.
